Her early career began in automotive manufacturing, followed by multiple roles in early stage and pre-IPO biotechnology companies, establishing and implementing financial and operational systems to provide strong foundations, enabling alignment and accountability to family foundations, venture capitalists and investors.
Shifting to non-profits 20 years ago, she took her interest for social justice and quality of life issues to become the first lay financial officer of a 200yr old Baltimore based religious group. There she held multifaceted, senior-level responsibilities encompassing all aspects of the organization’s fiscal functions, operations and performance, as well as oversight of administrative services and capital improvements for its buildings/properties. Continuing her role as a business partner she directed the affairs of an engineering association with related 501(c)3 entities, then moving on to assist the leadership of a medical society and a related national partnership. She came to Manna from a business improvement district (BID) and quasigovernment entity where she ensured the accuracy of financial and management information to support federal/state funders (MOHS) and foundations, primarily in field of homeless relief and community improvement.
Laura earned a Bachelor of Science degree with concentrations in Management and Human Resources from Towson University and holds a Master’s degree from a executive program at Loyola University in Baltimore.
